How does ThoughtRot hold my apps shut?

It uses Apple's Screen Time framework. When you open an app you chose, iOS shows a shield. Answer the questions in ThoughtRot, and the app opens for the time you set.

Why does it need Screen Time permission?

Without it, iOS does not let any app hold other apps shut. You can turn it off later in Settings → Screen Time → Apps with Screen Time Access → ThoughtRot.

Can ThoughtRot see what I do in other apps?

No. It only knows that you chose some apps, as private tokens from iOS. It cannot read what you do inside them.

I can't get back into my apps.

Open ThoughtRot from the notification or the home screen and finish the questions. If something is stuck, removing the app's Screen Time access in Settings releases every app immediately, and please email us so we can fix it.

How do I cancel Premium?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ThoughtRot.

A question looks wrong.

Tap the flag on the question in the app to report it, or email us. We read every report.
